Wow! I finally cultivated a bread recipe that works for me!
Let's back up. Months ago I started the, "I want to bake my own bread journey" knowing full well it was going to take some time to learn. I bought some cheap ingredients and away we went into the realm of practicing to bake bread.
What I didn't realize, however, was just how many ways there are to make bread. Every person on the planet seems to have their own take. From "just sprinkle the yeast over the water" to "knead" to "no knead" to "punch the dough" to "stretch the dough"... so many options. It's overwhelming!
Needless to say, when I found a recipe that not only worked (AKA I actually got something that actually looked, smelled and tasted fantastic) but was easy to follow, I was relieved.
So guys, without further ado... here's the recipe!
2.25 tsp. active dry yeast
1 tsp. sugar 1.25 cups warm water (100 degrees F)
1.5 tsp. salt
2.5 cups All-Purpose Flour, and some for dusting board and bowl
Combine warm water sugar and yeast, allow to rise 5 min
Add mixture to stand mixer
Add salt Add flour slowly until dough pull away from bowl
Dust proving bowl and allow dough to rise 60 minutes
Remove dough onto floured surface and fold onto itself to form a dough ball Place seem side down and rise another 30 minutes Preheat oven and dutch oven to 460*F
Remove dutch oven (REMEMBER GLOVES)
Place dough gently and swiftly into dutch oven on parchment paper, cover and bake for 35-45 minutes or until golden brown.
