Sometimes recipes have sweet stories... this is one of them.
Mrs. Dix's Ginger Snaps
My mother in law had a childhood neighbor who would make these cookies. Her name was Mrs. Dix and she became rather famous for her soft ginger snap cookies. Every child in the neighborhood was thrilled when she'd bake a fresh batch of her ginger snaps. It became her signature bake and everyone loved her for it!
Mrs. Dix was so known and so loved for her ginger snaps that when the good Lord took her home, her memorial service was full of you guessed it... ginger snaps.
Our Family's Cozy Holiday Bake
Today, this ginger snap recipe lives on in infamy in our family and it's a staple of the cozy holiday season drawing near.
They're now a tradition around here and our hearts swoon as the smell of cinnamon and ginger fills the air. It's a sweet delight that fills the home with holiday cheer.
Bonus: they're quick and easy to make and great for little ones to *help* with as they require a little smashing down before baking - perfect for little hands eager to bake!
Without further ado... let's get to the recipe...
